Abstract

The reliability of a network will change according to the traffic load in a network. Traffic load in an area can be balanced. Cellular operator make effort to overcome this issue with rehoming. Based on that matter will be analyzed the traffic and optimization in the network to achieve optimum service for the customers. Especially balancing the load of a BSC. The observation will focus on the mechanism of rehoming in GSM technology. The observation consist of current performance analisis and the analisis of trend that happened in the network. Focus to the BSC utilization in GSM technology Operator X with parameter data. The measurement will be performed to GSM-900 and GSM-1800 with 3 BSC as the object of the observation. The trend time in Juni 2014 and march 2015, with specific trend time of a BSC (before and after execution). Utilization anylisis of a BSC and the rehoming process before and after execution. The success of the anylisis result will be shown after rehoming process show maintained KPI performance. The KPI performance of 2G network increased with the decrease of average congestion and the increase of TCH availability. The threshold of TCH congestion is < 2% and <0.2% for SDCCH congestion. Keywords : GSM, BSC, 2G, TCH, SDCCH. Kehandalan suatu jaringan akan berubah sesuai trafik yang terjadi pada jaringan. Lalu lintas beban trafik pada suatu area dapat diseimbangkan. Operator seluler berusaha untuk mengatasi masalah dengan rehoming.Berdasarkan hal ini dilakukan analisis lalu lintas dan optimasi pada jaringan untuk mencapai pelayanan yang optimal bagi. Secara khusus menyeimbangkan kinerja suatu BSC. Pengamatan dilakukan pada mekanisme rehoming teknologi GSM. Analisis yang dilakukan diantaranya adalah analisis performa saat ini dan analisis tren yang terjadi pada jaringan. Fokus terhadap utilisasi BSC pada teknologi GSM Operator X dengan data parameter. Pengukuran dilakukan pada jaringan GSM operasi GSM- 900 & GSM-1800 dengan 3 BSC sebagai objek penelitian. Tren waktu pada bulan Juni 2014 dan Maret 2015, dengan ukuran waktu tertentu tren dari BSC (sebelum dan sesudah esekusi). Analisa utilitas suatu BSC serta proses rehoming baik sebelum dan sesudah dilaksanakan. Hasil analisis keberhasilan terlihat setelah proses rehoming menunjukan KPI performance terjaga. Performasi KPI jaringan 2G pun meningkat dengan ditunjukkan menurunnya average congestion dan TCH availability meningkat. Batas wajar (threshold) TCH congestion operator menggunakan < 2% dan <0.2 % untuk SDCCH congestion. Kata Kunci : GSM, BSC, 2G, TCH, SDCCH.
