Abstract

The application of Cloud Storage at the scale of manufacturing companies is still very rare. This is related to several factors, especially in operational costs. But it's different from the case with Private Cloud Storage which can be an option for cloud storage needs at low cost. Seafile is one of the Open Source based cloud storage software. The same system library as similar software uses, but in the Seafile library special encryption is used that can secure data from access by unauthorized parties. In this research, the implementation of Seafile is an alternative to using File Servers for manufacturing companies. The QoS test results show that Seafile has the ability to become an on-Premise Cloud-based Storage Server. The measurement results obtained access time which is not much different from the use on the local server (samba). Keywords – Seafile; Cloud Storage; Open Source Penggunaan Cloud Storage dalam skala perusahaan manufaktur masih sangat jarang. Hal ini berkaitan dengan beberapa factor terutama pada biaya operasional. Namun beda halnya dengan Private Cloud Storage yang bisa menjadi pilihan untuk kebutuhan cloud storage dengan biaya murah. Seafile merupakan salah satu perangkat lunak cloud storage berbasis Open Source. System library yang sama seperti perangkat lunak sejenis gunakan, namun dalam library Seafile digunakan enkripsi khusus yang dapat mengamankan data dari akses oleh pihak yang tidak berwenang. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan implementasi Seafile sebagai alternative penggunaan File Server untuk perusahaan manufaktur. Hasil pengujian QoS menunjukkan Seafile memiliki kemampuan untuk menjadi Storage Server berbasis Cloud secara on-Premise. Hasil pengukuran didapatkan waktu akses yang tidak jauh beda dengan penggunaan pada lokal server (samba). Kata kunci: Cloud Storage; Seafile; Open Source.
