Abstract

The objective of real-time monitoring and alerting systems is considered to be the standard for monitoring systems in IT schemes. There are many tools such as Prometheus, Icinga, and Zabbix to provide monitoring specialties that Information Technology professional requires to efficiently monitor the whole systems. However, not every tool is appropriately for the developed applications where a lightweight server with limited computing performance and storage especially in the limited-resource server that require the most of resource only for applications running. Furthermore, the tools mentioned before may require a lot of resources such as computing performance, CPU processes, memory utilization, storage performance as well as latency, throughput, IOPS also network performance, thence the monitoring system does not become lightweight anymore. The main contribution in the paper consists of the alert systems by methods like Email and Telegram in case of any interference in the Systems, which is assists the administrator in quick response action by alerting any potential issues in real-time. This paper aims to provide lightweight monitoring systems that can be used embedded with LAMP Server. The results show that the Monit system provides better lightweight, even in the maximum load test when the CPU usage is above 90% for some time the Monit monitoring system lightweightness does not increase sharply. Key words: Monitoring System, Lightweight System, Alerting System, Resource Efficiency, LAMP Stack Tujuan dari sistem monitoring dan sistem peringatan waktu nyata sudah dianggap sebagai satu-kesatuan di standar skema IT. Ada banyak alat sistem monitoring open source seperti Prometheus, Icinga, Zabbix dan lain-lain untuk menyediakan spesialisasi yang professional IT butuhkan secara efisien memonitoring seluruh sistem. Namun, tidak setiap alat yang dikembangkan cocok untuk setiap aplikasi di mana server dengan kinerja komputasi rendah dan penyimpanan terbatas terutama di server bersumber daya terbatas yang memerlukan sebagian besar sumber daya hanya untuk aplikasi yang dijalankan. Selain itu, alat yang disebutkan sebelumnya mungkin membutuhkan banyak sumber daya seperti kinerja komputasi, proses CPU, utilisasi memori, kinerja penyimpanan serta latensi dan juga kinerja jaringan, sehingga sistem pemantauan tidak menjadi ringan lagi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan sistem monitoring ringan yang dapat digunakan bersamaan dengan LAMP Server dengan membandingkan sumber daya pada beberapa alat open source yang dibangun dengan server tunggal dengan spesifikasi perangkat keras yang sama. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa alat sistem peringatan Monit memberikan bobot yang lebih baik, bahkan dalam uji beban maksimum saat penggunaan CPU di atas 90% selama beberapa waktu keringanan sistem pemantauan Monit tidak meningkat tajam.
