Abstract

A chair is a furniture with many types and varieties of uniqueness. Chair products had a simple function, which is to provide sitting facilities, which makes the curiosity of designers to create various types of chairs that provide an impressive sitting experience. The process of chair design planning needed attention to 3 aspects which are function related to sitting ergonomics, aesthetic related to appearance and impressivity, and system relate to durability and material. But in general, chair design had a tendency for each aspect which become the identity of the product. The Flip Over chair design for productive and relaxed activities inspired by de stijl design style, is about how a ch air with two function for daily products, can make a different looks and impression. With flip over transformation system, which is flipping the products to change the mode from one to another mode, the use of attractive color, and the use of polymer material which is light weigh and has high durabilities, it will be a product with a unique looks and can help user to arrange their room Keywords : Chair, flip over furniture, de stijl Kursi merupakan produk furnitur yang mempunyai banyak jenis dan keunikan yang berbeda beda. Produk kursi dengan fungsi yang begitu sederhana yaitu menyediakan sarana duduk, menjadikan rasa penasaran desainer untuk menciptakan berbagai macam kursi dengan menyajikan pengalaman duduk yang mengesankan. Perancangan kursi membutuhkan perhatian terhadap 3 aspek yaitu fungsi terkait ergonomi duduk, estetik terkait tampilan dan kesan, dan sistem terkait kekokohan material namun biasanya tiap rancangan kursi memiliki kecendrungan pada masing- masing aspek tersebut yang menjadikannya identitas atas produk tersebut. Perancangan kursi flip over untuk aktivitas santai dan aktivitas produktif dengan inspirasi gaya desain de stijl membahas tentang bagaimana sebuah kursi dengan dua fungsi sebagai produk sehari hari, dapat memberikan kesan yang berbeda dan tampilan yang tidak biasa. Dengan mengusung sistem flip over atau memutar balikan produk untuk proses transformasi dari mode satu ke mode lainnya, penggunaan warna yang atraktif, dan penggunaan material polimer yang ringan dengan durabilitas tinggi diharapkan dapat menjadi produk yang memiliki kesan yang berbeda dan dapat membantu pengguna dalam menata ruang huniannya.
