Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the most important needs for people to carry out their daily activities, because it has become a necessity for life. from urban areas that require large-scale electricity networks. In accordance with the explanation behind, currently the need for large-scale electricity use also requires large supporting materials. In this final project, the author examines the potential for renewable energy from the Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT), with low-scale wind speeds. Based on this potential to maximize wind energy, the authors develop a VAWT turbine design using the VDI 2221 method to design and generate appropriate power according to the needs of wind currents in Indonesia, especially in the Kali Adem Muara Angke Port area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. By doing a modeling design using SolidWorks. The engineering model is the blade on the turbine, Angle Of Attack and the selection of the right material. The results to be obtained from the 3-blade flat blade turbine with a blade height of 1 m, a diameter of 1.13 m and an Angle of Attack of 25 °, which are expected to get an output value of 250 watts. Key word: Renewable Energy, Wind Turbines, Vertical Turbine, VDI 2221 Method. Energi listrik merupakan salah satu kebutuhan penting bagi masyarakat untuk melangsungkan kegiatan sehari-hari, karna sudah menjadi kebutuhan hidup. terutama diwilayah perkotan yang membutuhkan jaringan listrik berskala besar. Sesuai dengan penjelasan di belakang, saat ini kebutuhan penggunaan listrik bersekala besar juga membutuhkan bahan pendukung yang besar. Dalam tugas akhir ini, penulis meneliti pemanfaatan potensi energi angin terbarukan Vertical Axis Wind Turbin (VAWT), dengan karakteristik kecepatan angin bersekala rendah. Berdasarkan potensi tersebut untuk memaksimalkan energi angin, penulis melakukan pengengembangan perancangan turbin Vertical tipe bilah datar dengan menggunakan metode VDI 2221 untuk melakukan perancangan dan perakitan pembangkit listrik tepat guna sesuai karakteristik energi angin di Indonesia, khusunya pada wilayah Pelabuhan Kali Adem Muara Angke, Penjaringan, Jakarta Utara. Dengan melakukan desain permodelan menggunakan SolidWorks. Permodelan yang di buat yaitu tipe bilah datar pada turbin, Angle Of Attack dan pemilihan bahan yang tepat. Hasil yang ingin diperoleh dari dari Turbin bilah datar 3 Sudu dengan tinggi bilah 1 m, diameter 1.13 m dan Angle Of Attack 25°, yang diharapkan mendapatkan nilai output 250 watt. Kata kunci: Energi Terbarukan, Turbin Angin,Turbin Vertical, Metode VDI 2221.
