Abstract
In Indonesia, especially in Cilegon, Banten, the use of energy sources still utilizes nonrenewable energy such as steam power plants, which of course will cause new problems both for the environment, health and economy. For the Cilegon - Banten sea area, suitable technology to be developed is the oscillating water column (OWC) technology. The oscillating water column (OWC) technology is very suitable to be built in the Cilegon - Banten sea because it has a sloping sea floor topography and has a fairly high and constant sea wave height because it is included in the Southern Waters of Banten to Java so that it can produce ocean wave energy which can be converted into electricity. From the calculation of the power obtained the calculation of the smallest power that can be generated is 5,416.95 Watt in the Sunda Strait while the largest power produced is 3,526,201.46 Watt in the southern waters of Banten to West Java. The application of ocean wave power generation oscillating water column systems can help provide additional contribution of electric power to conventional energy used so far. Keywords: Oscillating Water Column (OWC), Ocean wave energy, Power generated.
