Abstract

The performance of the refrigeration engine is something that needs to be considered in the operation of the engine. Is the actual performance of the refrigeration machine the same as the performance of the design. Pay special attention to the refrigeration machine by analyzing the actual refrigeration performance and comparing the performance of the refrigeration according to the design of the engine to determine the performance of the refrigeration machine. This analysis is carried out to find out whether the actual performance of the refrigeration machine is the same as the performance of the design, because it is known that the machine has been operating from 2016. The analysis method is carried out by the experimental method by conducting direct observations in the field and getting the necessary data. The parameters used in this study are the temperature of the refrigerant in the condenser and evaporator, the pressure of the refrigerant in the condenser and evaporator, the temperature of the water out of the condenser and evaporator, the temperature of the water entering the condenser and evaporator, the percentage of the actual load of the chiller. This refrigeration machine uses R-134a refrigerant in its operation. This refrigeration machine has components in the form of an evaporator, condenser, expansion device and a three-level centrifugal compressor. This research was conducted on a centrifugal water chiller type with a cooling capacity of 360 TR. R-134a cycled inside the refrigeration machine will be recorded temperature and pressure every hour from 10:00 to 17:00 on the evaporator and condenser to be able to know the performance of the refrigeration machine (COP). The results of this study indicate that the average COP value of data analysis is 9,281, smaller than the standard COP value of a centrifugal water chiller type refrigeration machine which is valued between 12.02 - 12.11, so that the performance of the refrigeration machine used can be said to be unfavorable , because the COP value is a benchmark value of good or bad refrigeration performance. Kinerja mesin refrigerasi merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengoprasian mesin tersebut. Apakah performasi aktual mesin refrigerasi sama dengan performasi desainnya. Menaruh perhatian khusus pada mesin refrigerasi dengan cara menganalisa kinerja refrigerasi sebenarnya dan membandingkan kinerja refrigerasi sesuai desain mesin tersebut guna mengetahui kinerja pada mesin refrigerasi. Analisa ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah kinerja aktual mesin refrigerasi sama dengan kinerja desainnya, karena diketahui mesin telah beroperasi dari tahun 2016. Metode analisa dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen yaitu dengan melakukan pengamatan langsung di lapangan dan mendapatkan data-data yang diperlukan. Parameter yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah temperatur refrigeran pada kondenser dan evaporator, tekanan refrigeran pada kondenser dan evaporator, temperatur air keluar pada kondenser dan evaporator, temperatur air masuk pada kondenser dan evaporator, persentase beban aktual chiller. Mesin refrigerasi ini menggunakan refrigeran R-134a dalam pengoperasiannya. Mesin refrigerasi ini memiliki komponen berupa evaporator, kondensor, alat ekspansi dan kompresor sentrifugal tiga tingkat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada chiller tipe centrifugal water chiller dengan kapasitas pendinginan 360 TR. R-134a yang bersiklus di dalam mesin refrigerasi akan dicatat temperatur dan tekanannya setiap jam dari pukul 10.00 hingga pukul 17.00 pada evaporator dan kondensor untuk dapat mengetahui kinerja mesin refrigerasi (COP). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata COP analisis data yaitu 9,281, lebih kecil dibandingkan nilai COP standar dari mesin refrigerasi tipe centrifugal water chiller yang bernilai antara 12,02 – 12,11, sehingga kinerja mesin refrigerasi yang digunakan dapat dikatakan kurang baik, dikarenakan nilai COP merupakan nilai tolak ukur baik buruknya kinerja refrigerasi.
