Abstract

ABSTRAKSI Monitoring jaringan berguna untuk memantau informasi statistik jaringan untuk pencegahan masalah jaringan, ataupun untuk mengetahui masalah jaringan yang sedang terjadi sehingga penanganannya dapat dilakukan secepat mungkin. CACTI adalah tools monitoring jaringan yang dapat merekam statistik jaringan berdasarkan konsep SNMP dan mengirimkan pesan peringatan bila terjadi masalah di jaringan dalam bentuk email. Namun, email pada CACTI memiliki kekurangan dalam hal waktu akses karena menyertakan grafik hasil monitoringnya. Dalam tugas akhir ini dibangun sebuah fitur yang dapat melengkapi dan menutupi kekurangan pada fitur CACTI. Fitur tersebut akan diintegrasikan dengan teknologi SMS dan metode priority service untuk memberitahukan masalah yang terjadi di jaringan, sehingga masalah yang ada dapat ditangani secepatnya. Konsep kerjanya adalah pada saat CACTI menangkap adanya masalah jaringan, laporan mengenai hal tersebut akan dikirim secara langsung melalui SMS berdasarkan prioritas yang telah ditentukan. Hal yang dilakukan adalah menginstal dan menganalisa CACTI, merancang proses integrasi SMS dan metode priority service pada CACTI, mengimplementasikannya dengan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan MySQL serta melakukan uji coba dengan perangkat jaringan yang ada. Tugas akhir ini menghasilkan fitur CACTI yang mampu memberikan notifikasi berupa SMS tentang masalah yang terjadi di jaringan dengan keunggulan pengiriman SMS yang otomatis dan penentuan kategori masalah jaringan yang dinamis. Kata Kunci: CACTI, Email Notification, SMS ABSTRACT Network monitoring is used to collect network statistic in order to prevent network problem, or to record network problems currently so the netwrk trubleshooting can be done as soon as possible. CACTI is a network monitoring tool that can collect and record network statistics based on the concept of SNMP network and send alert via email when the network is in trouble. But email has disadvantages in term of its access time because CACTI embeded graphics in it. This final task develop a feature that can complete CACTI’s feature. This feature will be integrated with SMS technology and priority service method to give alert of network problems, so that the network problems can be fixed as soon as possible. The concept is, CACTI will record the network problems and the feature will be sends alert immediately based on the priority that has been define before. To do in this final task are installing and analyzing CACTI, designing how to integrate SMS and priority service into CACTI, implementing by using PHP and MySQL languages and testing into some network device. The result of this final task is CACTI’s feature that can be used to give notification of network problems via SMS, with the advantages SMS sent automatically and it has a dynamic feature in defining the network problems.
