Abstract
Proses development produk yang membutuhkan waktu lama membuat produsen otomotif melakukan inovasi yang bertujuan mempercepat proses development tanpa mengabaikan kualitas produk. Salah satu penyebab lamanya proses development yaitu banyaknya item pengujian yang harus dilakukan untuk memastikan kualitas produk yang akan dipasarkan. Salah satu pengujian yang membutuhkan waktu cukup lama yaitu ketahanan material terhadap pengaruh cuaca (weather resistance). Penggunaan mesin weather resistance merupakan salah satu pilihan yang ditempuh oleh produsen untuk mempercepat proses pengujian. Mesin ini bekerja dengan mensimulasikan cuaca panas dan hujan sehingga membutuhkan energi yang besar. Untuk menekan konsumsi energi yang besar pihak management melakukan inovasi berupa daur ulang air destilasi dengan teknologi reverse osmosis (RO). Kondisi siklus mesin yang pendek menyebabkan temperatur air hasil daur ulang proses naik menjadi 40 °C. Padahal standar temperatur yang harus dicapai untuk pengujian water resistance ini yaitu 16°C ~ 21°C. Dengan demikian perlu dibuat sistem pendinginan guna menurunkan temperatur air hasil daur ulang agar sesuai dengan parameter pengujian. Sistem pendinginan yang dirancang menggunakan sistem refrigerasi kompresi uap. Sistem ini dirancang dengan desain mampu menurunkan temperatur dari 40°C menjadi 16°C ~ 21°C dengan volume air yang didinginkan sebanyak 1 m3 dan beroperasi selama 24 jam. One cause of the length of the development process is the large number of test items that must be carried out to ensure the quality of the products to be marketed. One test that requires a long time is the resistance of the material to the influence of weather. The use of weather resistance machines is one of the choices taken by manufacturers to speed up the testing process. This machine works by simulating hot and rainy weather so it requires a lot of energy. To reduce the large energy consumption, the management innovates in the form of recycling distilled water with reverse osmosis (RO) technology. Short engine cycle conditions cause the temperature of the recycled water to rise to 40 ° C. Even though the standard temperature that must be achieved for testing this water resistance is 16 ° C ~21 ° C. Thus the cooling system needs to be made in order to reduce the temperature of recycled water to fit the test parameters. The cooling system is designed to use a steam compression refrigeration system. This system is designed with a design capable of reducing temperatures from 40 ° C to 16 ° C ~ 21 ° C with a volume of water cooled by 1 m3 and operating for 24 hours.
