Abstract
Front attachment pada excavator berfungsi sebagai komponen penggalian atau pemindahan material, front attachment terbagi menjadi tiga komponen utama yaitu bucket, arm dan boom dimana di setiap komponen dilengkapi dengan cylinder hydraulic sebagai penggerak dan untuk menyambungkan bagian-bagian tersebut digunakan pin, akan tetapi beberapa pin ditemukan mengalami kerusakan dibawah umur pakainya (6000 jam), hal ini akan merugikan bagi pelanggan dikarenakan excavator adalah alat utama dalam sistem produksi sehingga ketika terjadi kerusakan maka produksi otomatis berhenti. Oleh karena itu pada tugas akhir ini penulis bermaksud melakukan analisis penyebab kerusakan pada pin ditinjau dari material dan juga cara pengoperasian unit oleh operator, dari data dilapangan didapat bahwa ketika tanah kondisi basah operator akan cenderung melakukan pengoperasian end stroke, dari hasil uji laboratoriun didapat bahwa kemampuan pin menyerap energy yaitu 25 J hal ini dimunkinkan akibat fasa upper bainit yang memiliki sifat getas, untuk menghindari kerusakan yang sama terjadi adalah dengan tidak melakukan pengoperasian tersebut atau melakukan perlakukaan panas normalizing atau perlakuan panas ulang hingga fasa upper bainit berubah. Kata Kunci : Excavator, pin, pengujian material, pengoperaian unit, ANSYS http://digilib.mercubuana.ac.id vii ABSTRACT The front attachment on the excavator functions as a digging component or moving material, the front attachment is divided into three main components namely bucket, arm and boom where each component is equipped with a hydraulic cylinder as a drive and to connect these parts use pins, but some pins found to experience damage below the recommended life time (6000 hours), this will be detrimental to the customer because the excavator is the main tool in the production system so that when there is damage the production automatically stops. Therefore in this thesis the author want to analysis the cause of damage to the pin in terms of material and also how the unit is operated by the operator, this research is carried out by testing the material, observing the operation of the unit by the operator, From the field data, it is found that when the soil is wet, the operator will tend to perform end stroke operations, from the laboratory test results it is found that the ability of the pin to absorb energy is 25 J this is possible due to the upper bainite phase which has brittle properties, to avoid the same damage from occurring is to not perform the operation or perform normalizing heat treatment or reheat treatment until the upper bainite phase changes.
