Abstract
Alat ini memiliki peranan penting di industri terhadap keberhasilan keseluruhan rangkaian proses produksi. Heat Exchanger merupakan suatu peralatan yang digunakan untuk memindahkan sejumlah energi dalam bentuk panas dari satu fluida ke fluida yang lain. Perpindahan panas tersebut terjadi dari suatu fluida yang suhunya lebih tinggi ke fluida lain yang suhunya lebih rendah. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kontur distribusi suhu dan kecepatan pada fluida hot dan fluida cold pada heat exchanger type shell and tube. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara numerik dengan variasi aliran input fluida panas 0,8 kg/detik dan kecepatan input fluida dingin 1 kg/detik dan variasi inlet suhu panas : 60°C, 90°C, 120°C, variasi inlet suhu dingin : 15°C, 16°C, 18°C dengan metode Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) pada software ANSYS. Susunan tube yang digunakan adalah square pitch yang disusun secara segi empat. Dalam penelitian ini dapat mengetahui kontur desain terhadap suhu dan kecepatan dari outlet fluida panas dan outlet dari fluida dingin dengan hasil variasi sebagai berikut : kontur distribusi suhu fluida hot terlihat pada bagian dinding terendah memiliki warna biru dan tertinggi memiliki warna merah, sedangkan fluida cold terlihat suhu terendah berwarna biru tua dan suhu tertinggi berwarna biru muda. kontur distribusi kecepatan fluida hot terlihat pada bagian dinding terendah memiliki warna biru dan tertinggi memiliki warna kuning hijau sedangkan fluida cold terlihat suhu terendah berwarna biru tua dan kecepatan tertinggi berwarna kuning hijau. Aliran fluida yang digunakan dua stage sistem counter-flow dengan model viskos yang digunakan adalah turbulensi model k-ε omega. The contour of the hot fluid velocity distribution can be seen on the lowest part of the wall in blue and the highest in yellow green, while the cold fluid shows that the lowest temperature is dark blue and the highest velocity is green yellow.
