Abstract

At this time, the utilization of car rental is a breakthrough for people who do not have personal transportation and are considered effective because there is no need to spend additional costs for the maintenance of transportation equipment. So it is possible that many car rental services, whether for holiday use, wedding events, and so forth. Agus Rent Cars is a car rental that is currently still using conventional rental systems. The conventional rental system is still booked through inter-Telephone, where the renter telephone rental owner and asks the availability of cars that can be rented and asks for information about the car that he wants to rent to the rental owner and also Agus Rent Cars needed a system of car location notification in order to help the rental owner to monitor the car being hired by the renter for not closing the possibility of theft against the car being Rent. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to create an Android-based car rental application with the addition of live tracking feature that can inform the existence of the rental car position that is expected to facilitate the tracking of the position of the car Rented and addressed the problem on the conventional rental system of Agus Rent Cars. This application is made using a prototype method of software development that emphasizes on the cycle of continuous repetitive system development until according to the needs of the user. Keywords- Car Rental, Android, Prototype, Location Based Service Pada saat ini, pemanfaatan rental mobil adalah sebagai terobosan bagi masyarakat yang tidak memiliki alat transportasi pribadi dan dinilai efektif karena tidak perlu mengeluarkan biaya tambahan untuk pemeliharaan alat transportasi. Sehingga besar kemungkinan banyak yang membutuhkan jasa penyewaan mobil, baik untuk penggunaan liburan, acara pernikahan, dan lain sebagainya. Agus Rent Cars adalah rental mobil yang saat ini masih menggunakan sistem penyewaan konvensional. Sistem penyewaan konvensional ini masih memesan melalui antar telepone, dimana penyewa menelepone pemilik rental dan menanyakan ketersediaan mobil yang dapat disewa serta menanyakan informasi terkait mobil yang ingin disewanya kepada pemilik rental dan juga Agus Rent Cars membutuhkan suatu sistem pemberitahuan lokasi keberadaan mobil agar dapat membatu pemilik rental dalam memantau mobil yang sedang disewa oleh penyewa karena tidak menutup kemungkinan dapat terjadinya tindak pencurian terhadap mobil yang sedang disewakan. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat aplikasi rental mobil berbasis android dengan tambahan fitur live tracking yang dapat memberitahukan keberadaan posisi mobil rental yang diharapkan dapat mempermudah pelacakan posisi mobil yang sedang dirental (disewa) dan mengatasi permasalahan pada sistem penyewaan yang masih konvensional pada Agus Rent Cars. Aplikasi ini dibuat menggunakan metode pengembangan perangkat lunak prototype yang menekankan pada siklus pembangunan sistem yang berulang terus menerus sampai sesuai dengan kebutuhan user.
