Abstract

The University of Mercu Buana Library is one of the storage collections of library materials, arranged systematically in a certain way and used as a source of information with different types of books from different fields of science. In the library many receive visits from various fields of science, as well as receive book transactions borrowed by visitors every day. So that it produces very large data every year. From the amount of data that is owned, it is difficult for the library to get information or patterns related to, what fields of study often visit and the types of books that are often borrowed. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to analyze the data pattern of borrowing books using data mining. The algorithm used is k-medoid clustering, with this algorithm a specified cluster is generated. By testing 6279 data with the period of the last 5 years, which were obtained were 2 cluster namely, the fields of study that often visited and the types of books that were often borrowed along with the closest medoid. Key words: data mining, clustering, k-medoid, library, mercu buana Perpustakaan Universitas Mercu Buana merupakan salah satu tempat penyimpanan koleksi bahan pustaka, diatur secara sistematis dengan cara tertentu dan digunakan sebagai sebuah sumber informasi dengan jenis-jenis buku dari bidang ilmu yang berbeda. Didalam perpustakaan banyak menerima kunjungan dari berbagai bidang ilmu, serta menerima transaksi buku yang dipinjam oleh pengunjung setiap harinya. Sehingga menghasilkan data yang sangat besar setiap tahunnya. Dari banyaknya data yang dimiliki, sulit bagi pihak perpustakaan dalam mendapatkan informasi atau pola terkait dengan, bidang ilmu apa saja yang sering berkunjung serta jenis buku yang sering dipinjam. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, perlu menganalisis pola data peminjaman buku menggunakan data mining. Algoritma yang digunakan adalah clustering k-medoid, dengan algoritma ini dihasilkan sebuah cluster yang sudah ditentukan. Dengan pengujian 6279 data dengan kurun waktu 5 tahun terakhir, yang di dapatkan ialah 2 buah cluster yaitu, bidang ilmu yang sering berkunjung dan jenis buku yang sering dipinjam beserta dengan medoid terdekatnya.
