Abstract

Thermal Oil System is a system which generally operates in the shipping area, this system operates with the purpose to heat the fuel, which is where the fuel will be used to support the operations of the main engines, auxiliary engines, and boilers. In operation, this system requires appropriate equipment (able to survive on the working pressure and temperature) to support operations. In the process of Thermal Oil System have the same principle with the system on steam boilers only using specific lubricant as conduction heat energy and media, in the selection of thermal oil should be very attentive to the maximum film temperature and maximum bulk temperature. Due to these factors by observing the working ability then the thermal oil system can work according to the system requirements. Keywords - Thermal Oil System, The Analysis of Pipe Thermal Oil System Thermal Oil System merupakan system terpenting yang pada umumnya beroperasi pada area perkapalan, system ini beroperasi dengan tujuan untuk memanaskan bahan bakar, yang mana bahan bakar tersebut nantinya akan digunakan untuk menunjang operasional dari main engine, auxiliary engine, dan boiler. Dalam pengoperasiannya, sistem ini memerlukan peralatan-peralatan yang sesuai (mampu bertahan pada tekanan dan temperatur kerja) untuk menunjang operasional. Dalam proses Thermal Oil System mempunyai prinsip yang sama dengan sistem pada steam boiler hanya saja menggunakan pelumas tertentu sebagai media penghantar panas dan energi, dalam pemilihan thermal oil harus sangat memperhatikan maximum film temperatur dan maximum bulk temperaturnya. Karena dengan memperhatikan faktor tersebut maka kemampuan kerja thermal oil system dapat bekerja sesuai dengan sistem yang dibutuhkan.
