Abstract

Failure of a main component of a PLTU material can hamper the performance of a PLTU. In order to produce steam, water will be heated in a component, the boiler. In a power plant with a supercritical boiler, the boiler consists of economizer, superheater, and reheater pipes. This study aims to determine the cause of failure of the superheater tube. Failure in the superheater tube will result in reduced capability of the boiler in the process of producing steam. The research uses a non destructive test (NDT) method by scaling using a magnet and checking using a tool that is a boroscope to ensure that scalling is still present. Testing sample scaling using FESEM-EDX. The results obtained from scaling contain material elements from the superheater pipes, namely Fe and Mn. This research is expected to provide an explanation of the cause of damage to the superheater tube on the 625 MWnet Banten power plant so that similar problems do not occur again. Keyword : PLTU, Boiler, Superheater Tube, NDT, FESEM-EDX Kegagalan suatu material komponen utama PLTU dapat menghambat kinerja dari sebuah PLTU. Dalam rangka menghasilkan uap, air akan dipanaskan didalam sebuah komponen yaitu boiler. Dalam PLTU dengan boiler supercritical, boiler terdiri dari pipa-pipa economizer, superheater, reheater. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab kegagalan superheater tube. Kegagalan di superheater tube akan mengakibatkan berkurangnya kemampuan dari boiler tersebut dalam proses menghasilkan uap. Penilitian menggunakan metode non destructive test (NDT) dengan pengambilan scalling menggunakan magnet dan pengecekan menggunakan alat yaitu boroscope untuk memastikan masih ada atau tidaknya scalling. Pengujian sampel scalling menggunakan FESEM-EDX. Dari hasil yang didapat scalling mengandung unsur material dari pipa superheater yaitu Fe dan Mn. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi penjelesan mengenai penyebab kerusakan superheater tube pada PLTU Banten 625 MWnet agar masalah yang serupa tidak terjadi lagi.
