Abstract

Solar is a non-renewable fuel. Therefore, saving and improving the quality of fuel oil becomes something very important. The purpose of this study was to determine the reduction in fuel consumption by the influence of the installation of the turbo cyclone on the Mitsubishi L300 diesel engine. This research was conducted by comparing the Mitsubishi L300 diesel engine without turbo cyclone with Mitsubishi L300 diesel engine that has been modified with the addition of turbo cyclone. Tests carried out at variations of engine speed of 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm and 2500 rpm. The results of this research are the value of 200 ml diesel fuel consumption on a Mitsubishi L300 diesel engine using a turbo cyclone at 1000 rpm engine speed with an average fuel consumption of 3,891 kg / hour (control = 4,373 kg / hour). At 1500 rpm, the average fuel consumption is 5,302 kg / hour (control = 5,897 kg / hour). At 2000 rpm, the average fuel consumption was 6.757 kg / hour (control = 7.715 kg / hour). At 2500 rpm engine speed the average fuel consumption is 10,044 kg / hour (control = 12,846 kg / hour). And the use of turbo cyclone on the Mitsubishi L300 diesel engine can increase fuel efficiency by 11.02% at 1000 rpm engine speed, 10.08% at 1500 rpm engine speed, 12.42% at 2000 rpm and 21.81% at 2500 rpm. Keywords: Diesel engine, turbo cyclone, fuel, RPM Solar merupakan bahan bakar yang tidak dapat diperbaharui. Karena itu, penghematan dan peningkatan kualitas bahan bakar minyak menjadi sesuatu yang sangat penting. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penurunan konsumsi bahan bakar pengaruh pemasangan alat turbo cyclone pada mesin diesel Mitsubishi L300. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan antara mesin diesel Mitsubishi L300 tanpa turbo cyclone dengan mesin diesel Mitsubishi L300 yang sudah dimodifikasi dengan tambahan alat turbo cyclone. Pengujian dilakukan pada variasi putaran mesin 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm dan 2500 rpm. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah nilai konsumsi bahan bakar solar sebanyak 200 ml pada mesin diesel Mitsubishi L300 dengan mengunakan alat turbo cyclone pada putaran mesin 1000 rpm rata-rata konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 3,891 kg/jam (kontrol= 4,373 kg/jam). Pada putaran mesin 1500 rpm rata rata konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 5,302 kg/jam (kontrol= 5,897 kg/jam). Pada putaran 2000 rpm rata rata konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 6,757 kg/jam (kontrol= 7,715 kg/jam). Pada putaran mesin 2500 rpm rata rata konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 10,044 kg/jam (kontrol= 12,846 kg/jam). Dan penggunaan turbo cyclone pada mesin diesel Mitsubishi L300 dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pemakaian bahan bakar sebesar 11,02% pada putaran mesin 1000 rpm, 10,08% pada putaran mesin 1500 rpm, 12,42% pada 2000 rpm dan 21,81% pada 2500 rpm.
