Abstract
The development of the manufacturing industry in Indonesia from year to year has progressed very rapidly, one of which is the manufacture of can packaging, an increase in entrepreneurs who own products, food, beverages, making packaged products as the main commodity. PT United Can, which is engaged in manufacturing cans packaging, strongly implements continuous improvement. from this study, namely to identify the types of defective products and the factors that cause defects in cans, as well as provide suggestions for improvements using the FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) methods to reduce the percentage of defects that occur in the Single Filler Machine process at PT. United Can. At the analysis stage, the researcher uses the Pareto diagram to find the dominant type of defect and looks for the root cause using the FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) method, the researcher uses the FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) method to find the most RPN (Risk Priority Number) value. tall. From the results of the study, it was found that the dominant types of defects were Dented by 80.30%, Scratch by 10.90% and Dirty by 8.80%. With the FTA method, the main factors causing product defects are Man, Machine and Method. The highest RPN (Risk Priority Number) value is the wall distance is too tenuous with a value of 252 and the wind setting on the Single Filler machine (not appropriate) with a value of 441. Actions that must be taken are the proper application of SOPs, periodic maintenance and special supervision of the Single Filler machine. as well as training for operators on Single Filler machines. In July-December 2021 the percentage of defects reached 0.87% and after an analysis was carried out starting from February-June 2022 the defect in the Single Filler machine reached 0.17%, with this approach using the FTA and FMEA methods succeeded in reducing product defects by 0 , 7%. Keywords: Quality Control, Single Filler, Pareto Diagram, FTA, FMEA Perkembangan industri manufaktur di Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat salah satunya adalah manufaktur pembuatan kemasan kaleng, semakin banyaknya pengusaha yang memiliki produk, seperti makanan, minuman, menjadikan produk kemasan kaleng sebagai komoditas utama. PT United Can yang bergerak dalam bidang manufakturing pembuatan kemasan kaleng sangat menerapkan perbaikan berkelanjutan (continuous improvement). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi jenis defect produk dan faktor penyebab defect kaleng, serta memberikan usulan perbaikan dengan menggunakan metode FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) dan FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) untuk mengurangi persentase defect yang terjadi pada proses Mesin Single Filler di PT United Can. Pada tahapan analisis peneliti menggunakan alat bantu diagram pareto untuk mencari jenis cacat yang dominan serta mencari akar penyebabnya menggunakan metode FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), peneliti menggunakan metode FMEA (Failure Mode And Effect Analysis) untuk mencari nilai RPN (Risk Priority Number) yang paling tinggi. Dari hasil penelitian di dapatkan hasil jenis cacat yang dominan yaitu Dented sebesar 80,30%, Scratch sebesar 10,90% dan Dirty sebesar 8,80%. Dengan metode FTA didapatkan Faktor utama penyebab cacat produk yaitu Man, Machine dan Method. Nilai RPN (Risk Priority Number) tertinggi yaitu jarak wall terlalu renggang dengan nilai 252 dan settingan angin pada mesin Single Filler (tidak sesuai) dengan nilai 441. Tindakan yang harus dilakukan yaitu penerapan SOP secara tepat, perawatan secara berkala dan dilakukannya pengawasan khusus terhadap mesin Single Filler serta pelatihan kepada operator mengenai mesin Single Filler. Pada bulan Juli-Desember 2021 presentase defect mencapai 0,87% dan setelah dilakukan analisis terhitung dari bulan Februrari-Juni 2022 defect pada mesin Single Filler mencapai 0.17%, dengan hal tersebut pendekatan menggunakan metode FTA dan FMEA peneliti berhasil menurunkan defect produk sebesar 0,7%.
