Abstract

ABSTRACT Currently the modem has become a necessity "premiere" for everyday life in many areas of life. In a nutshell, the modem is a tool to convert digital computer signals into analog signals and vice versa. The modem comes from the abbreviation modulator demodulator. Modulator is the part that converts the signal information into the carrier signal (Carrier) and ready to be delivered, while the demodulator is the part that separates the information signal (containing data or message) from the signal (carrier) who received that information can be received well. Modem is the combination of both, it means the modem is a two-way communication tool. Vendor Selection will use the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which aims to standardize the best criterion in vendor selection and knowing the best modem vendor for this company. Samples from this study are based on data from several departments were parties to an expert in the study of this modem selection. The sampling technique using judgment sampling for AHP requires reliance on a group of experts in accordance with the kind of relevant specialists in decision making. The results of this vendor on a priority order of the first priority is occupied by Vendor D with global weighting of 3.45, then second place is occupied by Vendor C with global weighting of 3.02, for the third place is occupied by Vendor A global significance by 2.26, and the last priority is occupied by Vendor B with global weighting of 1.27. For value Consistency Ratio (CR) in a matrix of pairwise comparisons among criteria, sub-criteria and alternatives within the tolerance limits that states that the answers of the respondents included in the category of valid and consistent. Keywords: Selection of vendors, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a modulator demodulator ABSTRAK Saat ini modem telah menjadi kebutuhan “premier” bagi kehidupan sehari- hari dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan. Secara singkatnya, modem merupakan alat untuk mengubah sinyal digital komputer menjadi sinyal analog dan sebaliknya. Modem berasal dari singkatan MOdulator DEModulator. Modulator merupakan bagian yang mengubah sinyal informasi kedalam sinyal pembawa (Carrier) dan siap untuk dikirimkan, sedangkan Demodulator adalah bagian yang memisahkan sinyal informasi (yang berisi data atau pesan) dari sinyal pembawa (carrier) yang diterima sehingga informasi tersebut dapat diterima dengan baik. Modem merupakan penggabungan kedua-duanya, artinya modem adalah alat komunikasi dua arah. Seleksi Vendor ini akan menggunakan Metode Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) yang bertujuan untuk menstandarisasikan kriteria terbaik dalam pemilihan vendor dan mengetahui vendor modem terbaik untuk perusahaan ini. Sampel dari penelitian ini diambil berdasarkan data dari beberapa departemen yang merupakan pihak-pihak ahli dalam penelitian seleksi modem ini. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan judgment sampling karena metode AHP mensyaratkan ketergantungan pada sekelompok ahli sesuai dengan jenis spesialis terkait dalam pengambilan keputusan. Hasil urutan prioritas vendor ini pada prioritas pertama ditempati oleh Vendor D dengan bobot global sebesar 3,45, selanjutnya ditempat kedua ditempati oleh Vendor C dengan bobot global sebesar 3,02, untuk urutan ketiga ditempati oleh Vendor A dengan bobot global sebesar 2,26, dan pada prioritas terakhir ditempati oleh Vendor B dengan bobot global sebesar 1,27. Untuk nilai Consistency Ratio (CR) dalam matrik perbandingan berpasangan antar kriteria, sub-kriteria, dan alternatif berada pada batas toleransi yang menyatakan bahwa jawaban para responden termasuk dalam kategori valid dan konsisten.
