PAGE SHEET OF ABSTRACT Design of 2-Dimensional Animated Short Film “Life a Baloon” Written Accountability Product Design Study Program Department of Art and Creative Design Mercu Buana University Jakarta, 2017 By: Sinthya Agustin Brillianti ABSTRACT Animation is one of the kind of multimedia works that make people as an alternative film that uses humans or animals as characters in the film. According to Blair Preston from his book Cartoon Animation, Animation is a process of drawing and photographing characters-a person, animal, or inanimate object in a sequential position to make a movement that looks alive. But the development of 2-dimensional animation in Indonesia is still very slow and rarely found. That's why I use that reason to make short films using 2-dimensional animation techniques themed social campaigns about stress experienced by the workers. In addition to being a spectacle for the family, the purpose of this design is nothing more than to show to the public, especially those who do not know about the scope of work if the worker every day is not spared from the stress, and educate to relatives whose members are always depressed with his work to support them in coping the stress in the form of short films. The conclusion of this design is, the creation of 2-dimensional animation takes a very long time compared to making the film using people as actors Although the cost incurred much cheaper. And it’s recommended to making the animation done in groups because its manufacture includes 3 processes that must be passed, namely pre production, production, and post production. The process will take a very long time if done individually. Keywords: Family, Cartoon, 2-dimensional Animation, Short Film HALAMAN LEMBAR ABSTRAK PERANCANGAN FILM PENDEK ANIMASI 2 DIMENSI “LIFE A BALOON” Pertanggungjawaban Tertulis Program Studi Desain Produk Jurusan Desain Seni dan Kreatif Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta, 2017 Oleh: Sinthya Agustin Brillianti ABSTRAK Animasi adalah salah satu jenis dari karya multimedia yang buat orang sebagai alternatif film yang menggunakan manusia atau hewan sebagai tokoh dalam film tersebut. Menurut Blair Preston dari bukunya yang berjudul Cartoon Animation, Animasi adalah sebuah proses dari menggambar dan memfoto karakter-seseorang, hewan, atau benda mati dalam posisi berurutan untuk membuat gerakan yang terlihat hidup. Namun perkembangan Animasi 2 dimensi di Indonesia masih sangat lambat dan jarang sekali ditemukan. Karena itulah saya memanfaatkan hal itu untuk membuat film pendek menggunakan teknik animasi 2 dimensi bertemakan kampanye sosial tentang tekanan stress yang dialami para pekerja. Selain sebagai tontonan untuk keluarga,tujuan dari perancangan ini tak lebih untuk meperlihatkan ke masyarakat khususnya yang belum tau dengan ruang lingkup kerja jika pekerja setiap harinya tak luput dari tekanan stress, dan mengedukasikan kepada sanak keluarga yang salah satu anggotanya selalu tertekan dengan pekerjaannya untuk mendukungnya dalam mengatasi tekanan tersebut dalam bentuk film pendek. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari perancangan ini adalah, pembuatan animasi 2 dimensi memakan waktu yang sangat lama dibandingkan dengan pembuatan film memakai orang sebagai aktor Walaupun biaya yang dikeluarkan jauh lebih murah. Dan dalam pembuatan animasi lebih baiknya dikerjakan secara kelompok karena pembuatannya meliputi 3 proses yang harus dilalui, yaitu pra produksi, produksi, dan pasca produksi. Proses tersebut akan memakan waktu sangat lama jika dikerjakan secara individu. Kata kunci: Keluarga, Kartun, Animasi 2 dimensi, film pendek
