Abstract
Smart grids on a network of good electricity distribution systems must be supported by the application layer and infrastructure in the form of electrical automation devices, data transmission system, software and SCADA system (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) that are reliable in providing information both in the form of data and signals to be used as triggers to change the electricity distribution network by maneuvering on a cubicle panel or LBS (Load Break Switch). In managing the SCADA system is required in the distribution network management system, one of them in terms of managing the system made discusses aspects of data transparency which includes the use of electrical automation devices and reading communication protocols that are integrated into a SCADA system so that the data can be used in the master station or SCADA HMI. This study discusses aspects of data transparency by conducting comparative assessments of systems that are non-transparent and transparent to be implemented on SCADA systems using the SWOT analysis method (Strenghts, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) working on costumer substation 20kV power distribution network, so using the SWOT analysis method can find out the communication system from the field devices to the master station between a transparent system with a non-transparent system that is economical, effective and efficient for implementing the SDS system (Smart Distribution System) where the transparent system has more economical value with value savings CAPEX is around 19.90% and OPEX value is around 59.59%. In addition, a transparent system has a system that is more reliable, effective and efficient in providing data with an average time change in status points and control points that are faster or nearer real-time, which is less than 5 seconds.
