Abstract

This paper aims to implement a method in the development of webbased applications, namely academic information systems. Because there is a school that is still carrying out the process of managing and processing data manually without a system that stores the results of managing and processing the data. To do software development, a method is needed, namely the prototyping method. Prototyping method was chosen because prototyping is one approach in software development that directly demonstrates how a software or software component will work in its environment before the actual construction stage is carried out. In making web-based applications there is a framework. The framework used in developing this web-based software is Laravel. This research shows that software development using the prototyping method is suitable to be applied to software development projects where the conditions of the users are not yet fully aware of technology. Because prototyping simulates a system that will be created for the needs of users and users can be involved in the development of applications that will be created. Key words: Academic Information System, Educational Institution, Laravel, Prototyping, School Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan metode dalam pengembangan aplikasi berbasis web, yaitu sistem informasi akademik. Karena ada sekolah yang masih melakukan proses pengelolaan dan pengolahan data secara manual tanpa sistem yang menyimpan hasil pengelolaan dan pengolahan data. Untuk melakukan pengembangan perangkat lunak, sebuah metode diperlukan, yaitu metode prototyping. Metode Prototyping dipilih karena prototyping adalah salah satu pendekatan dalam pengembangan perangkat lunak yang secara langsung menunjukkan bagaimana perangkat lunak atau komponen perangkat lunak akan bekerja di lingkungannya sebelum tahap konstruksi yang sebenarnya dilakukan. Dalam membuat aplikasi berbasis web ada yang namanya framework. Framework yang digunakan dalam mengembangkan perangkat lunak berbasis web ini adalah Framework Laravel. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan perangkat lunak menggunakan metode prototyping cocok untuk diterapkan pada proyek pengembangan perangkat lunak di mana kondisi pengguna belum sepenuhnya menyadari teknologi. Karena prototyping mensimulasikan sistem yang akan dibuat untuk kebutuhan pengguna dan pengguna dapat terlibat dalam pengembangan aplikasi yang akan dibuat.
