Abstract

PT. XYZ Textile is a company that has been built long time ago and engaged in the sale of fabrics, such as polyester and batik. The system currently running on the company is a desktop-based system. One of the problems that often occurs is that it takes a long time to check the availability of a fabric stock. The sales team outside the office must contact the support team at the office to get information about the availability of a fabric stock. The other problem is, when the network in the company is interrupted, the support team experiences difficulties in checking inventory data, so sales outside the office must wait longer. Another problem is the system of recording orders made by the sales team to the support team is still written manually on paper, so that sometimes there is a human error that causes losses to the company. Therefore, in making this journal, the author tries to design a mobile web based application that runs on cellular data networks or Wi- Fi by using HTML, PHP, and java script programming languages. With the existence of this mobile web-based system, it is expected to help process the company’s business activities, especially the sales division in managing the delivery of information on goods inventory. XYZ Textile merupakan badan usaha yang telah lama dibangun dan bergerak pada bidang penjualan bahan tekstil, seperti poliester dan batik. Saat ini, sistem yang digunakan pada perusahaan tersebut adalah sistem berbasis desktop. Salah satu permasalahan yang sering terjadi adalah dibutuhkannya waktu yang cukup lama dalam pengecekan data persediaan sebuah bahan. Tim sales yang sedang berada di lapangan harus menghubungi tim support yang berada di kantor untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai persediaan sebuah bahan. Selain itu, ketika jaringan di perusahaan tersebut mengalami gangguan, maka tim support mengalami kesusahan dalam mengecek data persediaan, sehingga sales yang berada di lapangan pun harus menunggu lebih lama. Permasalahan lainnya adalah sistem pencatatan pemesanan yang dilakukan oleh tim sales kepada tim support masih ditulis manual dengan kertas, sehingga terkadang terjadi human error yang menyebabkan kerugian bagi perusahaan. Oleh karena itu, pada pembuatan jurnal ini, penulis mencoba merancang aplikasi berbasis mobile web yang berjalan pada jaringan data seluler atau Wi-Fi dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman HTML, PHP, serta java script. Dengan dihadirkannya sistem berbasis mobile web ini diharapkan dapat membantu proses kegiatan bisnis perusahaan, khususnya divisi sales dalam mengelola penyampaian infomasi persediaan barang.
