Abstract

ABSTRAK Ketersedian link serta redudansi perangkat jaringan merupakan suatu hal yang harus dipenuhi demi melindungi berjalannya bisnis dan juga dalam melakukan transaksi dari kerusakan dan kehilangan data atau sistem, dan bahkan kesalahan dalam pemrosesan data. Tugas akhir ini membuat simulasi dan menganalisa failover menggunakan HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol) sebagai redundant link untuk meminimalkan lamanya link down. Software yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini adalah Cisco Packet Tracer dan Wireshark. Pada simulasi akan dilakukan pengujian perangkat backup atau standby dan akan dilakukan simulasi failover. Data hasil parameter dari simulasi jaringan failover dengan metode HSRP juga akan dibandingkan dengan teori. Dengan menggunakan nilai dari parameter quality of service yaitu throughput, delay, jitter, dan packet loss. Sehingga didapat analisa pengaruh dari HSRP terhadap jaringan. Dari hasil simulasi failover, saat perangkat active down maka perangkat backup berhasil menggantikannya dan bertindak sebagai perangkat active. Hasil simulasi jaringan tanpa HSRP nilai packet loss sebesar 0%, delay 189.2 ms, jitter 0.19 ms dan throughput 1.6 kbps. Sedangkan hasil simulasi jaringan menggunakan HSRP didapat nilai packet loss sebesar 0%, delay 108.6 ms, jitter 0.1 ms dan throughput 2 kbps. Dimana pada hasil keseluruhan simulasi dapat dikatakan simulasi jaringan yang menggunakan HSRP lebih baik karena memiliki perangkat backup dan juga memberikan hasil parameter yang lebih baik jika dibandingan hasil simulasi jaringan tanpa menggunakan HSRP. Kata Kunci: Jaringan, HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol), Failover ABSTRACT The availability of links and redundancy of network devices are something that must be fulfilled in order to protect business operation and transactions from damage and loss of data or system, and moreover errors in the data processing. This final project create a simulation and analyzes a failover design using HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol) as a redundant link to minimize down link time. Software which be required in this research is Cisco Pakcet Tracer and Wireshark. In this simulation, the backup or standby device will be tested and a failover simulation will be performed. The result parameters data from failover network simulations using the HSRP method will be compared with the theory. By using the values of the quality of service parameters that is bandwidth, throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. So we can get an analysis of the effect of HSRP on the network. From the results of a failover simulation, when the active device is down, the backup device successfully replaces it and acts as an active device. The results of network simulation without HSRP packet loss value of 0%, delay 189.2 ms, jitter 0.19 ms and throughput 1.6 kbps. While the network simulation results using HSRP obtained packet loss values of 0%, delay 108.6 ms, jitter 0.1 ms and throughput of 2 kbps. Where the overall results of the simulation can be said that network simulations using HSRP are better because they have backup devices and also provide better parameter results when compared to network simulation results without using HSRP.
