Abstract

ABSTRAK Pada tugas akhir ini akan membahas mengenai peningkatan kapasitas jaringan serat optik yang dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan nilai efesiensi pada serat optik. Sistem serat optik adalah infrastruktur telekomunikasi penting untuk jaringan broadband di Indonesia dengan teknologi transmisi yang dapat menampung trafik yang besar. Namun seiring semakin banyaknya ABSTRACT In this final project will discuss about increasing the capacity of the optical fiber network which is done by increasing the efficiency value of the optical fiber. The fiber optic system is an important telecommunications infrastructure for broadband networks in Indonesia with transmission technology that can accommodate large traffic. But as the number of data network users increases, the traffic gets higher, the capacity of the optical fiber network can be significantly increased by modernizing the DWDM technology in transmission devices. DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology is a transmission technology that can accommodate large traffic needs. Along with the increasing needs of customers in using a telecommunications network, the greater the capacity of the optical fiber network is needed. This can be done by modernizing the DWDM 6800 technology to the 9800 DWDM technology. In DWDM 6800 Technology, the maximum capacity of one port only holds 10 Gbit / s while using DWDM 9800 the maximum capacity of one port can hold up to 100 Gbit / s. The modernization of DWDM 6800 technology to DWDM 9800 technology has advantages in the use of fewer cables, because the DWDM 9800 uses a cross connection system.
