Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship of parenting parents with adjustment to new students. In addition, another goal in this study is to find out how much parenting in improving adjustment to students. The subjects of this study were 120 new regular students of Mercu Buana University with a total age range from 18-22 years. This research approach uses a quantitative approach, sampling using a purposive sampling technique. This research data collection tool uses a scale of parenting and self-adjustment. Data analysis method used in this research is Pearson product moment technique. The results show that there is a relationship between authoritative parenting with self-adjustment with a value of r = 0.318; p = 0,000, there is a relationship between authoritarian parenting with adjustment to the value of r = -0.222; p = 0,000, there is no relationship between permissive parenting with adjustment to the value of r = -0,100; p = 0.276. Keywords : Parenting, Adjustment Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh orang tua dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru. Selain itu tujuan lain dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pola asuh dalam meningkatkan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru reguler 1 Universitas Mercu Buana yang berjumlah sebanyak 120 responden dengan rentang usia mulai dari 18-22 tahun. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Alat pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan skala pola asuh dan penyesuaian diri. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik product moment pearson. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara pola asuh otoritatif dengan penyesuaian diri dengan nilai r = 0,318 ; p = 0,000, terdapat hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter dengan penyesuaian diri dengan nilai r = -0,222 ; p = 0,000, tidak terdapat hubungan antara pola asuh permisif dengan penyesuaian diri dengan nilai r = -0,100 ; p = 0,276.
