Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between smartphone addiction and motivation to learn in students who are working in psychology at University X. The research method uses a quantitative approach with Pearson product moment correlational techniques with sampling techniques using stratified cluster random sampling techniques. A sample of 207 respondents were 1-8 semester semester 2015-2018 students working in psychology at X University. The measuring instrument used was the smartphone scale addiction adapted by Kwon (2013) and MSLQ adapted by Dancers & Kewal (2015) . The results showed that the relationship between smartphone addiction and motivation to learn the dimensions of test anxiety was 0.146 with a significance value of 0.035. Smartphone addiction with motivation to learn self-efficacy dimensions is 0.065 with a significance value of 0.353 and smartphone addiction with motivation to learn the intrinsic dimension is -0.049 with a significance value of 0.481. From the analysis of the data it can be concluded in general that there is a relationship between smartphone addiction and student motivation in a negative direction. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik korelasional Pearson product moment dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik stratified cluster random sampling. Sampel sebanyak 207 responden merupakan mahasiswa semester 1-8 angkatan 2015-2018 yang bekerja jurusan psikologi di universitas X. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah addiction smartphone scale yang di adaptasi oleh Kwon (2013) dan MSLQ yang di adaptasi oleh Mendari & Kewal (2015). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara adiksi smartphone dan motivasi belajar dimensi test anxiety sebesar 0,146 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,035. Adiksi smartphone dengan motivasi belajar dimensi self-efficacy yaitu 0,065 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,353 dan adiksi smartphone dengan motivasi belajar dimensi intrinsik yaitu -0,049 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,481. Dari analisis data dapat disimpulkan secara umum bahwa terdapat hubungan antara adiksi smartphone dengan motivasi belajar mahasiswa degan arah negatif.
