Abstract

This research focused on differences in smartphone addiction which are reviewed by age, namely adolescents and early adults at the level of junior high school education, senior high school and university with a sample of 507 people. The sampling technique used is Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The research approach used was Explanatory Survey (Questionnaire). Data collection was performed using the Smartphone Addiction Scale from Kwon, et al, (2013). The analysis technique used is the Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed t = 4,784 and p = 0,000 (p <0.05), which means that there are significant differences in smartphone addiction between adolescence and early adulthood with the average value produced by adolescents higher than the average of early adulthood. The average value in adolescents is 3.62 and the average value in early adults is 3.22. Keywords: smartphone addiction, adolescent, early adult. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada perbedaan smartphone addiction yang ditinjau berdasarkan usia yaitu remaja dan dewasa awal pada tingkat pendidikan sekolah menengah pertama, menengah akhir dan universitas dengan jumlah sampel 507 orang. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan Explanatory Survey (Kuesioner). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Smartphone Addiction Scale dari Kwon, dkk, (2013). Teknik analisa yang digunakan adalah Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan t = 4,784 dan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) yang artinya terdapat perbedaan smartphone addiction yang signifikan antara remaja dan dewasa awal dengan rata-rata nilai yang dihasilkan remaja lebih tinggi dibanding rata-rata dewasa awal. Nilai rata-rata pada remaja adalah sebesar 3,62 dan nilai rata-rata pada dewasa awal sebesar 3,22. Kata Kunci: smartphone addiction, remaja, dewasa awal.
