Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of parenting with self-esteem in adolescents in SMA X class X majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. This approach uses a quantitative approach. The sample used in this study were 108 students of class X majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Sampling using a saturated sampling technique. In collecting data, researchers used two measuring instruments namely, self-esteem scale (10 items) and parenting scale (30 items). Analysis techniques to test hypotheses using the Pearson Correlation technique. The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between authoritative parenting with self esteem with a value of r = 0.437; p = 0,000. There is a positive and significant relationship between authoritarian parenting with self esteem with a value of r = 0.321; p = 0.001. There is a positive and significant relationship between permissive parenting with self esteem with a value of r = 0.394; p = 0,000. Key Words: Parenting, Self Esteem, Youth, Psychology Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh dengan self esteem pada remaja di SMA Negeri X kelas X jurusan MIPA. Pendekatan ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sample yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 108 siswa/siswi kelas X jurusan MIPA. Pengambilan sample menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Dalam pengambilan data, peneliti menggunakan dua alat ukur yaitu, skala self esteem (10 item) dan skala pola asuh (30 item). Teknik analisa untuk menguji hipotesa menggunakan teknik Korelasi Pearson. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara pola asuh otoritatif dengan self esteem dengan nilai r = 0,437 ; p = 0,000. Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara pola asuh otoriter dengan self esteem dengan nilai r = 0,321 ; p = 0,001. Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara pola asuh permisif dengan self esteem dengan nilai r = 0,394 ; p = 0,000. Key Words: Pola Asuh, Self Esteem, Remaja, Psikologi
