Abstract
The Old Town area has a very important role in arranging and connecting the historical development of the city of Jakarta from the past to the present, as well as for the future. Therefore, the existence of the Old Town area must always be preserved, so that it still has its identity as one of the historical witnesses of the city of Jakarta. In the Jakarta Old Town Guidelines (2007), there are planning parameters and guidelines for the preservation of the old city cultural heritage area, both buildings and outside space. However, modernization which is also developing in the Jakarta City development process is now beginning to influence the existence of the Old City area. It is feared that it will erode the image of the historic tourist area of the old city of Jakarta. From this, in addition to the related regulations, perceptions are also needed to evaluate the image of the historic old town. Keywords: Regional Image, Conservation, Historic, Perception, Old City, Jakarta Kawasan Kota Tua memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam merangkai dan menghubungkan sejarah perkembangan kota Jakarta dari masa lalu ke masa sekarang, maupun untuk masa yang akan datang. Oleh karenanya, keberadaan kawasan Kota Tua harus selalu dijaga kelestariannya, sehingga tetap memiliki identitasnya sebagai salah satu saksi sejarah kota Jakarta. Dalam Guidelines Kota Tua Jakarta (2007), terdapat parameter perencanaan dan panduan pelestarian Kawasan cagar budaya kota tua, baik bangunan maupun ruang luarnya. Namun, modernisasi yang turut berkembang dalam proses pembangunan Kota Jakarta saat ini mulai mempengaruhi keberadaan kawasan Kota Tua. Hal tersebut dikhawatirkan akan mengikis citra Kawasan wisata bersejarah kota tua Jakarta. Dari hal tersebut, selain adanya peraturan terkait, persepsi juga dibutuhkan guna mengevaluasi citra Kawasan bersejarah kota tua.
