Abstract

This study aims to explore the picture of the resilience of single mothers who have children with intellectual disabilities during the pandemic. Resilience refers to the individual's capacity to bounce back from a stress or adversity in order to continue a better life. The subjects in this study were 4 single mothers who were obtained using purposive sampling. The research method used is a case study qualitative approach to obtain in-depth data. Data collection techniques for this study were interviews and observation. The validity of the data obtained from significant others. According to the four subjects who lived a resilient life based on the aspects studied, all of them experienced a significantly declining economic condition and chose to let go of feelings that were judged to be making things worse. The four subjects are also increasingly thinking about the interests of their children's independence. Including hoping that their children will quickly return to learning activities at school and return to normal, so that they are able to explore a world that they don’t know yet. Keywords: Resilence, Single Mother, Intellectual Disability. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk menggali gambaran resiliensi ibu tunggal yang memiliki anak dengan disabilitas intelektual di masa pandemi. Resiliensi merujuk pada kapasitas individu untuk bangkit kembali dari sebuah tekanan maupun kesengsaraan guna melanjutkan kehidupan yang lebih baik. Subjek yang terdapat pada penelitian ini berjumlah 4 ibu tunggal yang diperoleh menggunakan purposive sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus untuk mendapatkan data secara mendalam. Teknik pengumpulan data untuk penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan observasi. Keabsahan data didapatkan dari significant others. Menurut keempat subjek yang menjalani hidup secara resilien berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang diteliti, seluruhnya mengalami kondisi ekonomi yang sedang menurun secara signifikan dan memilih untuk melepaskan perasaan-perasaan yang dinilai akan lebih membuat keadaan menjadi lebih buruk. Keempat subjek juga semakin lebih memikirkan kepentingan kemandirian anaknya. Termasuk berharap agar anak mereka cepat kembali kepada kegiatan belajar di sekolah dan kembali seperti biasa, agar kembali mampu menjelajah dunia yang belum mereka ketahui.
