Abstract

The existence of a products in the form of goods and services are worth if they are preferred by consumer as the user of those products. Therefore, an effort to build an awareness by a product is considered important and required. SMA Negeri 2 KS Cilegon (Krakatau Steel High School, Cilegon), is trying to improve their awareness to student candidates and their parents by using available resources and strengths. However, the expectation of improvement of their awareness, needs some research to explain the relationship of existing evidences. According to observation results and phenomenon during the author works in SMA Negeri 2 KS Cilegon, the author assumed that to improve the awareness, the student candidates and their parents are necessary to be examined in term of what their perception to SMA Negeri 2 KS Cilegon and how the relation between promotion strategy and their own awareness. In regards to limited time-frame, costs and other resources in running this research, the author faced some difficulties in collecting data and respondences, which in return the data processing and analysis only involved limited variables. Regarding the research methodology, the author used a descriptive analysis with validity test. From all research phases that have been completed, the author concludes that there is correlation between the student candidates of SMA Negeri 2 KS Cilegon and their Parents which explain the origin of school (Junior High School). That is significantly affected of the city from Junior High School to the brand awareness, but that is not significantly affect from domicile variable. The promotion strategy that had been done is significantly affected to the brand awareness of student candidates and their parents, but not of student candidates only. The strategy of quality has caution to improve brand awareness of student candidates and their parents.
