Abstract

The Relationship Between Authoritative Parenting and Self-efficacy Career Decisions of First-year Students ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to explain and examine the relationship of authoritative parenting and the efficacy of career decisions in first year students. The type of research used in this study is quantitative correlational. The subjects in this study were first-years students at Mercu Buana University Campus D with an age range of 18-25 years. The number of respondents in this study were 60 respondents. The data collection technique used was convenience sampling. Data was collected through two measuring instruments, namely the Career Decision Confidence Scale developed by Taylor & Betz (1983) and the Scale of Care patterns from Baumrind (1971) and developed by Buri (1991). The analysis technique used is the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between authoritative parenting and career decision efficacy in first-year students, which showed that the better the authoritative pattern of health would be the higher the efficacy of career decisions in first year students. Keywords: authoritative parenting, self-efficacy career decisions Hubungan Pola Asuh Otoritatif Dan Efikasi Keputusan Karir Pada Mahasiswa Tahun Pertama ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan dan menguji hubungan pola asuh otoritatif dan efikasi keputusan karir pada mahasiswa tahun pertama. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat pertama di Universitas Mercu Buana Kampus D dengan rentang usia 18 – 25 tahun. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 60 responden. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah convenience sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui dua alat ukur, yaitu Skala Keyakinan Keputusan Karir yang dikembangkan oleh Taylor & Betz (1983) dan Skala Pola Asuh dari Baumrind (1971) dan dikembangkan Buri (1991). Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan korelasi positif yang signifikan antara pola asuh otoritatif dan efikasi keputusan karir pada mahasiswa tahun pertama, yang menunjukan bahwa semakin baik pola suh otoritatif maka akan semakin tinggi efikasi keputusan karir pada mahasiswa tahun pertama.
