Abstract
ABSTRAK Alat uji puntir telah dibuat untuk pengujian material specimen ST37 atau material lain yang gradenya di bawah material ST37. Sebelum digunakan sebagai alat uji di laboratorium alat uji puntir tersebut harus dicek dan dipastikan faktor keamanannya (safety factor) terlebih dahulu untuk memastikan bahwa alat tersebut aman digunakan untuk pengujian material di laboratorium. Analisa faktor keamanan pada alat ini menggunakan apliaksi Software Solidworks dan perhitungan secara manual. Pengetesan ini dilakukan dengan cara menguji kekuatan puntir specimen baja ST37, kemudian beban yang dialami oleh-komponen-komponen alat uji puntir dianalisis faktor keamanannya. Hasil pengujian terbukti alat uji puntir mampu mematahkan spesimen tersebut. Selanjutnya beban yang dialami oleh komponen-komponen alat uji puntir digunakan untuk menganalisis faktor keamanan pada komponen-komponen alat uji puntir tersebut. Dan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor keamanan semua komponen lebih dari satu bahkan jauh di atas 1. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan alat uji puntir yang dibuat layak untuk digunakan sebagai alat pengujian puntir material. Kata kunci : material ST37, safety factor, Solidworks, uji puntir ABSTRACT Torsion test equipment has been made for testing ST37 specimen material or other materials whose grade is below ST37 material. Before being used as a testing tool in a laboratory, the torsion test equipment must be checked and the safety factor must be ascertained first to ensure that the device is safe to be used for testing materials in the laboratory. Safety factor analysis on this tool uses the Solidworks Software application and manual calculation. This test is carried out by testing the strength of the ST37 steel specimen twisting, then the load experienced by the components of the twisting test tool is analyzed for its safety factor. The test results proved the twisting test equipment was able to break the specimen. Furthermore, the load experienced by the components of the torsion test tool is used to analyze the safety factor of the components of the torsion test tool. And the results of the analysis show that the safety factor of all components is more than one even far above 1. So that it can be concluded that the twisting test equipment that is made is suitable for use as a material testing tool. Keywords: safety factor, Solidworks, ST37 material, torsion test
