Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, changes in behavior to continue carrying out normal activities while implementing health protocols were called new normal. Government policies in the new normal era have a direct and significant impact for employees and companies. This condition can lead to a high level of turnover intention for employees. This study aims to determine whether organizational commitment plays a role as a mediator between core self-evaluation and turnover intention for workers in the new normal era. Quantitative research methods are carried out through mediation regression and accidental sampling techniques. A total of 429 employees in Jabodetabek responded to a questionnaire from the Turnover Intention Measurement Scale (TIMS) developed by Mobley, the Core Self- Evaluation Scale (CSES) developed by Judge et al., and the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) developed by Allen and Meyer. The mediation regression analysis in this study used the PROCESS V3.5 Procedure for SPSS by Andrew F. Hayes. The results showed that organizational commitment has a role as a mediator in the relationship between core self-evaluation and turnover intention, this shows that the impact of core self-evaluation and turnover intention will increase with organizational commitment. This research is expected to be a reference for companies and employees regarding the importance of understanding the values of core self-evaluation, organizational commitment and turnover intention so that they can understand the individual abilities, commitment and loyalty of workers in order to prevent their turnover intention. Keywords: core self-evaluation, komitmen organisasi, turnover intention, new normal, Jabodetabek employees Kebijakan dari pemerintah di era new normal berdampak secara langsung dan signifikan pada pekerja dan perusahaan. Kondisi seperti ini bisa mengakibatkan tingginya tingkat turnover intention pada pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah komitmen organisasi berperan sebagai mediator antara core self- evaluation dan turnover intention pada pekerja di era new normal. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dilakukan melalui regresi mediasi dan teknik accidental sampling. Sebanyak 429 pekerja di Jabodetabek menanggapi kusioner dari alat ukur Turnover Intention Measurement Scale (TIMS) yang dikembangkan oleh Mobley, Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES) yang dikembangkan oleh Judge et al., dan Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Allen dan Meyer. Analisa regresi mediasi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan PROCESS V3.5 Procedure for SPSS oleh Andrew F. Hayes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komitmen organisasi memiliki peran sebagai mediator dalam hubungan core self-evaluation dan turnover intention, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak dari core self-evaluation dan turnover intention akan semakin meningkat dengan adanya komitmen organisasi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi perusahaan dan pekerja mengenai pentingnya memahami nilai-nilai pada core self- evaluation, komitmen organisasi dan turnover intention sehingga dapat memahami kemampuan individu, komitmen, dan loyalitas yang dimiliki pekerja guna untuk mencegah turnover intention mereka.
