Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between motivation of Korean Drama Binge Watching with Parasocial Interaction among members of Korean Club Mercu Buana University. this research used quantitative method by distributing questionnaries to members of Korean Club Mercu Buana University, amounting to 71 members. The theory that researcher used for motivation of Korean drama binge watching it has been adapted. Has seventh dimensions for explained what are the motivations of binge watching. While the theory of parasocial interactons knowing as uni-dimensional theory. Researches using analysis technique by pearson correlation. The results of data analysis shows there is a significant positive relationship between the motivation of Korean drama binge watching and parasocial interaction. Higher the feeling of interacting with the favorite character will increase the motivation for binge watching Keyword : the motivation of binge watching, parasocial interaction, parasocial relationship. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi Binge Watching Drama Korea dengan Interaksi Parasosial pada Anggota Korean Klub Universitas Mercu Buana. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan penyebaran kuesioner yang dibagikan untuk seluruh anggota Korean Klub Universitas Mercu Buana yang berjumlah 71 Anggota. Teori motivasi binge watching yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori yang telah diadaptasi. Memiliki 7 dimensi yang digunakan untuk mengukur motivasi dalam binge watching. Sedangkan pada teori interaksi parasosial menyatakan berdimensi tunggal (unidimensional). Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi pearson dan hasil analisa data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara motivasi Binge Watching dengan Interaksi Parasosial. semakin tinggi rasa berinteraksi dengan tokoh favorite akan meningkatkan motivasi untuk binge watching.
