Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Smartphone addiction and academic procrastination in regular students of the Faculty of Psychology 1 Mercu Buana University, West Jakarta. The population in this study was 600 people and the samples in this study were 220 students with the criteria of students from the Faculty of Psychology Regular 1 University of Mercu Buana, West Jakarta, who were active and with convenience sampling technique. The method in this research is quantitative, data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire. The measuring instrument used in the measurement of Smartphone addiction is the Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) and the measuring instrument used in the measurement of academic procrastination is the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS). Hypothesis testing techniques in this study using correlational techniques with the Sig. 0.00 <0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between Smartphone addiction and academic procrastination in students of the regular 1 Faculty of Psychology at Mercu Buana University, West Jakarta with the moderate category. Key Words: Smartphone Addiction, Academic Procrastination Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Smartphone addiction dengan Prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi reguler 1 Universitas Mercu buana Jakarta Barat. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 600 orang dan jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 220 orang mahasiswa dengan kriteria mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Reguler 1 Universitas Mercu buana Jakarta Barat yang berstatus aktif dengan teknik convenience sampling. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif, teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan angket. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam pengukuran Smartphone addiction yaitu Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) dan alat ukur yang digunakan dalam pengukuran Prokrastinasi akademik yaitu Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS). Teknik uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik korelasional dengan nilai Sig. 0,00 < 0,05 yang berarti adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara Smartphone addiction dengan Prokrastinasi akademik pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi reguler 1 Universitas Mercu buana Jakarta Barat dengan kategori sedang. Kata Kunci: Smartphone Addiction, Prokrastinasi Akademik
