Abstract

This study aims to prove the hypothesis that there are significant differences of group based anger, group based hatred and outgroup empathy towards refugees based on the gender of refugees. The study targeting the people living around the West Jakarta Kalideres refugee camp. This research was conducted using a quantitative non-experimental comparative design. The 357 respondents were selected using accidental sampling technique. The ANOVA analysis techniques shows there are significant differences of group based anger. Group based hatred and outgroup empathy towards refugees based on the gender of refugees. The result also indicates higher group based anger, group based hatred and outgroup empathy towards male refugees than female refugees. Keywords: Group Based Anger, Group Based Hatred, Outgroup Empathy Towards Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan hipotesis bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari rasa marah, benci dan empati berbasis kelompok terhadap pengungsi berdasarkan gender pengungsi. Penelitian ini menargetkan masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar kamp pengungsi Kalideres Jakarta Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain komparatif noneksperimental kuantitatif. 357 responden dipilih menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Teknik analisis ANOVA menunjukan ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari rasa marah berbasis kelompok, benci berbasis kelompok dan empati berbasis kelompok masyarakat terhadap pengungsi berdasarkan gender pengungsi. Hasilnya menunjukkan rasa marah, benci dan empati lebih tinggi terhadap pengungsi laki-laki daripada pengungsi perempuan..
