Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate the efforts in reducing inventory, through the application of VSM, and reduced lead time from an earlier time, for orders quickly get to the hands of customers. The methodology used was observed throughout the production process to determine the cause of the bottle neck, high inventory and long lead time. Results indicated that the VSM analysis can lead to increased production capacity. Thus, efforts to reduce waste and increase productivity can be done by applying the analysis of VSM in all work centers. Keywords: inventory, lead time, VSM. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui upaya-upaya dalam menurunkan inventory, melalui penerapan VSM, dan memendekan lead time dari kondisi sebelumnya, agar pesanan cepat sampai ke tangan pelanggan. Metodologi yang dipakai adalah pengamatan di sepanjang proses produksi agar diketahui penyebab terjadinya penumpukan, inventory yang tinggi dan leat time yang panjang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa analisis VSM dapat mengakibatkan kapasitas produksi naik. Dengan demikian, upaya untuk mengurangi waste dan meningkatkan produktifitas dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan analisis VSM di seluruh work centre. Kata kunci: inventory, lead time, VSM.
