Abstract

This research is supposed to know the differences in Parenting Practice based on Parental Goals on parents who have children aged 4-6 years in the South Tangerang region who were obtained by incidental sampling technique, with respondents numbering 200 parents (N = 197 Women, N = 3 Man). This study uses Skinner (2005) Parenting Practices and Parental goals from Husting & Grusec (1998) that have been modified by researchers. Based on data analysis using one way ANOVA different test results obtained significance results of 0.140 which means that in general there is no difference in Parenting Practice based on Parental Goals in parents. However, if examined further, there are differences in positive parenting practices, namely on the dimensions of warmth, structure, and autonomy support. Parents with Relationship Center Goals are higher in terms of warmth, structure, and autonony support than parents with parent center goals, child center goals. Keywords: Parenting Practice, Parental goals Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan Parenting Practice berdasarkan Parental Goals pada orang tua yang memiliki anak usia 4-6 tahun di wilayah Tangerang Selatan yang diperoleh dengan teknik insidental sampling,dengan responden berjumlah 200 orang tua (N= 197 Perempuan, N= 3 Laki-laki). Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Parenting Practice Skinner(2005) dan Parental goals dari Husting&Grusec(1998) yang telah dimodifikasi oleh peneliti. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji beda one way anova diperoleh hasil signifikansi 0,140 yang berarti secara umum tidak ada perbedaan Parenting Practice berdasarkan Parental Goals pada orang tua. Namun bila ditelaah lebih jauh,terdapat perbedaan praktik pengasuhan yang positif yakni pada dimensi warmth,structure, dan autonomy support. Orang tua dengan Relationship Center Goals lebih tinggi pada aspek warmth,structure,dan autonony support dibandingkan orang tua dengan parent center goals,child center goals.
