Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara grit dan motivasi pada mahasiswa yang berkuliah secara online selama pandemi COVID- 19. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan kuesioner online sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Responden dari penelitian ini terdiri atas 181 mahasiswa semester 3 ke atas yang berkuliah di Jabodetabek. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling dengan menggunakan alat ukur grit scale yang dikembangkan oleh Angela L Duckworth dengan total 12 item dan alat ukur Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) – Short Indonesian Language Version yang dikembangkan oleh Robert J. Vallerand dan diadaptasi oleh Lina Natalya dengan total 15 item. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat korelasi positif sebesar 49.3% antara grit dan motivasi. Dengan demikian dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa grit dan motivasi saling berhubungan secara signifikan. Semakin tinggi grit seseorang maka semakin tinggi juga motivasinya, sebaliknya semakin rendah grit seseorang maka semakin rendah juga motivasinya. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between grit and motivation in college students who learn online during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted using quantitative methods with online questionnaires as a data collection tool. Respondents from this study consisted of 181 third semester college students and above who study in Jabodetabek area. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling using grit scale measuring instrument developed by Angela L Duckworth with total of 12 items and Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) – Short Indonesian Language Version measuring instrument developed by Robert J. Vallerand and adapted by Lina Natalya with 15 items in total. The result of this study indicates that there is a positive correlation between grit and motivation by 49.3%. Thus, from this study, it can be concluded that grit and motivation are significantly related. The higher a person’s grit, the higher the motivation.
