Abstract

The majority of parents nowadays have made an easier access using a smartphone for their children, which is the smartphone often misused with things that are useless. Smartphone is a technology which is the primary need of urban communities. With a variety of sophistication features offered in smartphones that we can use everyday such as information updates, cameras, e-mail, social media, watching videos, even games favored by adults and children. This affects the relationship of family between parents and their children due to smartphone addiction. this is happens for a lot of cases, such as imitating a character in a game that is not necessarily good for children so that the child snaps at parents, and parents too focus on their smartphones, so they have no longer caring about the environment. Based on the above, the design of this book is designed to explain parents and children to deal with addictions on smartphones in the form of activity guides that can be done with the family. In this design has one target, a parents who have children aged seven years. The design of this Visual Communication Design is educative in the form of a parental guide media which contains the stages of recognizing the symptoms of addiction with visuals. That way this is education expected to strengthen relationships between family members. Key Word: Education, Smartphone, Parents, childhood Mayoritas dizaman sekarang orangtua sudah mempermudah akses menggunakan smartphone kepada anak mereka, yang dimana smartphone itu sering disalah gunakan dengan hal-hal yang tidak bermanfaat. Smartphone merupakan teknologi yang menjadi kebutuhan primer masyarakat urban. Dengan berbagai kecanggihan fitur yang ditawarkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari seperti update informasi,kamera,email, social media, menonton video, bahkan game yang saat ini digemari oleh orang dewasa dan anak-anak. Hal ini mempengaruhi hubungan antara anggota keluarga yang dapat memperenggang keeratan orang tua dan anak akibat kecanduan smartphone. Saat ini banyak kasus yang terjadi, salah satunya seperti meniru karakter pada sebuah game yang belum tentu baik sehingga anak membentak orang tua, dan orangtua pun yang fokus pada smartphone, sehingga tidak peduli lagi terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut diatas, maka perancangan desain buku ini dibuat untuk menjelaskan para orang tua dan anak menyiasati kecanduan pada smartphone berupa panduan-panduan kegiatan yang dapat dilakukan bersama keluarga. Dalam perancangan ini memiliki satu target, yakni para orang tua yang memiliki anak usia tujuh tahun. Perancangan Desain Komunikasi Visual ini berupa edukatif dalam bentuk media buku panduan orang tua yang berisi tentang tahapan mengenali gejala kecanduan dengan visual. Dengan begitu edukasi ini diharapkan dapat mempererat hubungan antar anggota keluarga. Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran , Smartphone, orang tua, masa kecil anak
