Abstract

The city of Depok grew after the establishment of the University of Indonesia in 1986. In short, after becoming a city based on Law Number 15 of 1999, the City of Depok now has a fast-growing city economic growth of 7.51% / year. This makes transportation problems in Depok city also more serious due to the spread of population growth (urban sprawl) and the increasing number of ownership of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. The paradigm of big cities, especially in Cibubur - Depok, in overcoming the problem of congestion has begun to shift from the old way that is only seen from the provision of network systems to innovative strategies through the application of concepts that promote integration between land use and transportation. One of the concepts applied in big cities is Transit Oriented Development (TOD). TOD (Transit Oriented Development) is a concept that at the beginning of its emergence was a reaction to the phenomenon of urban sprawl (city infiltration to the periphery) followed by high population dependence on the use of highways and private vehicles (automobiles). To reduce this dependency, urban development is directed at transit points. This concept reviews transit points not only as a place to raise and lower passengers, but these transit points can also function as a place for urban activities (residential centers, offices, trade and services, education, etc.). Keywords: Depok, Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Mass transportation, mixed used. Kota Depok tumbuh setelah berdirinya Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 1986. Singkatnya, Setelah menjadi kota berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 15 Tahun 1999, Kota Depok sekarang memiliki pertumbuhan ekonomi kota yang tumbuh cepat 7,51% / tahun. Hal tersebut membuat masalah transportasi di kota Depok juga semakin serius karena penyebaran pertumbuhan populasi (urban sprawl) dan meningkatnya jumlah kepemilikan kendaraan roda dua dan roda empat. Paradigma kota-kota besar khususnya di Cibubur – Depok, dalam mengatasi permasalahan kemacetan sudah mulai bergeser dari cara lama yang hanya dilihat dari penyediaan sistem jaringan menuju ke strategi inovatif melalui penerapan konsep-konsep yang mengedepankan integrasi antara penggunaan lahan dengan transportasi. Salah satu konsep yang diterapkan di kota-kota besar tersebut adalah Transit Oriented Development (TOD). TOD (Transit Oriented Development) adalah konsep yang pada awal kemunculannya merupakan reaksi atas fenomena urban sprawl (perembetan kota ke pinggiran) diikuti dengan tingginya ketergantungan penduduk terhadap penggunaan jalan raya dan kendaraan pribadi (automobile). Untuk mengurangi ketergantungan tersebut, pengembangan kota diarahkan pada titik-titik transit. Konsep ini meninjau titik-titik transit tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat untuk menaikkan dan menurunkan penumpang, namun titik-titik transit tersebut dapat sekaligus berfungsi sebagai sebuah tempat berlangsungnya aktivitas perkotaan (pusat permukiman, perkantoran, perdagangan dan jasa, pendidikan, dan sebagainya).
