Abstract

Eyes is one of the elements of the senses that are important for us in carrying out daily activities. The health of the five senses in our body will have a positive effect on us as well as eyes health, if our eyes health it can help our activities. According to Sigarlaki Pello, et al (2016), eyes health can be impaired due to several factors that cause farsightedness to diseases that can cause blindness. Based on the results of research by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sigarlaki Pello, et al (2016), it is estimated that there are 12 people who suffer from blindness in every minute of the world and four of them are from Southeast Asia, and in Indonesia alone there is an estimated 1 person who suffers blindness in every minute. According to Sigarlaki Pello, et al (2016), Indonesian people have a tendency to suffer from cataracts 15 years faster than patients in regions that have a subtropical climate. According to the Indonesian Minister of Health in Yunita (2013), visual impairment and blindness are still a health problem in Indonesia. Therefore to be able to carry out activities and cure of eye diseases needed an eye health center that can serve the community in the activity and also healing one of which is the Eye Hospital. Eyes Hospital will be carried out with a Contemporary Architecture approach which is expected to give the impression of a comfortable and friendly Hospital. With the Contemporary Architecture approach, it is also hope that this Eyes Hospital building can become an icon in the Kebon Jeruk area, West Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta which is the location of this Hospital. Keywords: Hospital, Special Eye Hospital, Contemporary Architecture. Mata adalah salah satu elemen dari pancaindera yang penting bagi kita didalam menjalankan aktifitas sehari-hari. Sehatnya suatu panca indera yang ada di tubuh kita akan memberikan efek yang positif bagi kita begitu juga dengan kesehatan mata, bila kesehatan mata kita terjaga maka akan membantu kegiatan kita. Menurut Sigarlaki Pello, dkk (2016), kesehatan mata dapat terganggu disebabkan karena beberapa faktor yang mengakibatkan penyakit rabun mata sampai penyakit yang bisa menimbulkan kebutaan. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian World Health Organization (WHO) dalam Sigarlaki Pello, dkk (2016), diperkirakan ada 12 orang yang menderita kebutaan dalam setiap menit didunia dan empat orang diantaranya yang berasal dari Asia Tenggara, dan di Indonesia sendiri diperkirakan ada 1 orang yang menderita kebutaan dalam setiap menit. Menurut Sigarlaki Pello, dkk (2016), masyarakat Indonesia memiliki kecenderungan menderita katarak 15 tahun lebih cepat dibandingkan penderita didaerah yang memiliki iklim subtropis. Menurut menteri Kesehatan RI dalam Yunita (2013), gangguan pengelihatan dan kebutaan masih menjadi masalah kesehatan di Indonesia. Maka dari itu untuk bisa melaksanakan kegiatan dan penyembuhan dari penyakit mata diperlukan suatu pusat kesehatan mata yang dapat melayani masyarakat didalam kegiatan dan juga penyembuhan salah satunya adalah Rumah Sakit Khusus Mata. Rumah Sakit Khusus Mata ini akan dilakukan dengan pendekatan Arsitektur Kontemporer yang diharapkan akan memberikan kesan Rumah Sakit yang nyaman dan ramah. Dengan pendekatan Arsitektur Kontemporer diharapkan juga bangunan Rumah Sakit Khusus Mata ini bisa menjadi ikon di daerah Kebon Jeruk, Kota Jakarta Barat, DKI Jakarta yang menjadi lokasi Rumah Sakit ini.
