Abstract

In a company, a leader is needed as one of the superiors who can provide proper direction to subordinates or employees. Communication made by leaders to their subordinates is by using interpersonal communication. One company that uses interpersonal communication in establishing good relationships between superiors and subordinates is PT. Mitra Buana Jaya Lestari. Therefore, this study aims to determine how the interpersonal communication of leaders to subordinates to create a communication climate in the work environment of PT. Mitra Buana Jaya Lestari. The theory or concept used is the concept of interpersonal communication to communicate messages to subordinates. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type with a case study method with data collection techniques in two ways, namely primary data collection through in-depth interviews and secondary data collection through the documentation results of various interpersonal communications to communicate messages to subordinates. The results of the research from interviews with leaders and subordinates are that in organizational communication, there is top-down formal communication in the form of procedures and orders, informal communication or grapevine during breaks, and communication barriers such as message delivery barriers. Keywords: Communication Barriers, Communication Climate, Formal Communication, Informal Communication, Interpersonal Communication Di dalam perusahaan, pimpinan dibutuhkan sebagai salah satu atasan yang bisa memberikan arah yang tepat kepada bawahan ataupun karyawannya. Komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh para pimpinan kepada para bawahannya yaitu dengan menggunakan komunikasi interpersonal. Salah satu perusahaan yang menggunakan komunikasi interpersonal dalam menjalin hubungan yang baik antara atasan dengan bawahannya yaitu PT. Mitra Buana Jaya Lestari. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana komunikasi interpersonal pimpinan kepada bawahan untuk menciptakan iklim komunikasi di lingkungan kerja PT. Mitra Buana Jaya Lestari. Teori atau konsep yang digunakan adalah konsep komunikasi interpersonal untuk mengkomunikasikan pesan kepada bawahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) komunikasi interpersonal untuk mengkomunikasikan pesan kepada bawahan. Hasil penelitian dari wawancara dengan pimpinan dan bawahan adalah dalam komunikasi organisasi, terdapat komunikasi formal top-down dalam bentuk prosedur dan perintah, komunikasi informal atau selentingan saat istirahat, dan hambatan komunikasi seperti hambatan pengiriman pesan.
