Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between Core Self Evaluation and Cognitive Reappraisal Strategy and whether there is a relationship between Core Self Evaluation and Expressive Suppress Strategy in street children who are in West Jakarta shelter. Data was taken from a sample of 57 street children from Rumah Singgah located in West Jakarta. Measuring instruments used to prove the hypothesis are, the Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES) by Judge, et. al., consisting of 12 items and the Emotion Regulatory Strategy by Gross. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling to analyze this study statistically. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between Core Self Evaluation with the Cognitive Reappraisal Strategy. However, there is no significant relationship between Core Self Evaluation and Expressive Suppress Strategy. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara Core Self Evaluation dengan Strategi Cognitive Reappraisal dan apakah ada hubungan antara Core Self Evaluation dengan Strategi Expressive Suppress pada anak jalanan yang berada di rumah singgah Jakarta Barat. Data diambil dari sampel sebanyak 57 anak jalanan dari 2 Rumah Singgah yang berada di Jakarta Barat. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk membuktikan hipotesa yaitu, Core Self- Evaluation Scale (CSES) oleh Judge dkk., (1997) yang terdiri dari 12 item dan Strategi Regulasi Emosi oleh Gross (2003). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling untuk menganalisis studi ini secara statistik. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara Core Self Evaluation dengan Strategi Cognitive Reappraisal. Namun, tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Core Self Evaluation dengan Strategi Expressive Suppress.
