Abstract
ABSTRAK Sistem komunikasi satelit masih menjadi andalan dalam pemenuhan sistem komunikasi jarak jauh yang mampu menjangkau hampir keseluruhan wilayah Indonesia, terutama pada beberapa sektor bisnis seperti maritim, pelayaran, pertambangan, offshore, perbankan, dan perkebunan. Kecepatan data (data rate) menjadi tolak ukur mendasar dari kebutuhan layanan telekomunikasi pada customer, sehingga akan mempengaruhi konfigurasi sistem yang akan dibangun, seperti menentukan sistem modulasi, menentukan besarnya bandwidth transponder, kebutuhan link budget, dan perangkat yang akan digunakan. Perencanaan suatu link sistem komunikasi satelit berlandaskan pada kebutuhan link budget yang ditentukan pada parameter Eb/No dan Bit Error Rate (BER), sehingga perlu perencanaan yang baik untuk tercapainya link yang optimal dan efisien. Kata kunci: Sistem komunikasi satelit, data rate, link budget, optimal dan efisien ABSTRACT Satellite communication systems are still a mainstay in fulfilling long-distance communication systems that are able to reach almost the entire territory of Indonesia, especially in several business sectors such as maritime, shipping, mining, offshore, banking, and plantations. Data speed (data rate) becomes a fundamental benchmark of telecommunications service needs of the customer, so that it will affect the configuration of the system to be built, such as determining the modulation system, determining the amount of transponder bandwidth, link budget requirements, and the equipment to be used. The planning of a satellite communication system link is based on the need for a link budget that is determined by the Eb / No and Bit Error Rate (BER) parameters, so good planning is needed to achieve an optimal and efficient link.
