Abstract

Empathy is one of the factors that caninfluence forgiveness, forgiveness occurs based on he hypothesis that forgive others because they have empathy in themselves. This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation of empathy with forgiveness in the context of student relationship in Mercubuana University. This research was conducted on 135 students who are in relationship. The measuring instrument used in this study is Transgression Related Interpersonal Motivation Inventory (TRIM-18) and Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). Data analysis using pearson correlation and the result is 0,183 and a significance level of 0,034. Keywords: empathy, forgiveness Empati merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi pemaaafan, pemaafan terjadi berdasarkan hipotesis bahwa orang memaafkan orang lain karena memiliki empati dalam dirinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara empati dengan pemaafan dalam konteks berpacaran pada mahasiswa Universitas Mercubuana. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 135 mahasiswa yang memiliki hubungan pacaran.
