Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between smartphone addiction and academic procrastination in X High School students. The research method used is a quantitative approach. The respondents of this study used 221 students consisting of all tenth grade in X high school. This study uses Smartphone Addiction Scales instruments by Kwon, Kim, Cho, and Yang that consisting of 33 items and Tuckman’s Procrastination Scales that consisting of 16 items. The results of this study indicate that Spearman correlation analysis obtained a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.445 and a significant value of 0,000 so that it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between smartphone addiction and academic procrastination in X High School students. Keywords: smartphone addiction, academic procrastination Penelitian ini bertujan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara adiksi smartphone dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa/siswi sma x. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian menggunakan 221 responden siswa yang terdiri dari seluruh kelas sepuluh sma x. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Smartphone Addiction Scales oleh Kwon, Kim, Cho, dan Yang terdiri dari 33 aitem dan Tuckman Procrastination Scales oleh Tuckman yang terdiri dari 16 aitem. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil analisis korelasi Spearman diperoleh koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,445 dan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,000 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara adiksi smartphone dengan prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa/siswa sma x.
