Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy of semior students who are preparing a thesis. This research was conducted at the University of Mercu Buana with a total of 273 subjects consisting of 140 men and 133 women. This research used simple random sampling technique, and data collection was carried out using an emotional intelligence questionnaire consisting of 38 items of statements and self efficacy consisting of 18 items. Data analysis was performed by Pearson product moment correlation technique with the help of the SPSS version 21.0 statistical program. From the data analysis, the correlation value between emotional intelligence and self efficacy was 0,000 with p equal to 0,78. This shows that there is a positive and significant correlation between emotional intelligence and self efficacy in final-level students who are preparing a thesis at Mercu Buana University. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan self efficacy mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang menyusun skripsi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Mercu Buana dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 273 orang yang terdiri dari 140 laki-laki dan 133 perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner kecerdasan emosional yang terdiri dari 38 butir pernyataan dan self efficacy yang terdiri dari 18 butir pernyataan. Analisa data dilakukan dengan teknik statistik korelasi product moment dari Pearson dengan bantuan program statistik SPSS versi 21.0. Dari analisis data diperoleh nilai korelasi antara kecerdasan emosional dengan self efficacy sebesar 0,000 dengan p sebesar 0,78. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang positif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan self efficacy mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang menyusun skripsi di Universitas Mercu Buana.
