Abstract
The raw material for the production process is a very important factor, so consideration is needed in its procurement. The object in conducting this research is a factory in the Steel Slab industry, namely PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk. The problems in this company are often the purchase of raw materials which always exceeds the usage needed for one month. So the first thing to do is to find out what forecasting is the best, which method of lot sizing is the most optimal and to calculate the forecasting of steel slab requests. Then determine how much raw material needs to be prepared based on the number of steel Slab product requests. Calculations are calculated using POM-QM and Ms. software. Excel, where the forecasting method uses Moving Average (MA), Weight Moving Average (WMA), and Exponential Smoothing (ES). Then calculate the total cost of raw material inventory by Lot Sizing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Lot For Lot (LFL), Fixed Period Requirements (FPR), Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), and Period Order Quantity (POQ). Based on the calculation that has been done (ES) with an error value (MAD = 14289, MSE = 291359, & MAPE = 0.1790), did not cross the control limits and the most optimal and economical lot sizing POQ technique with the second smallest inventory cost after the LFL, namely Rp7,769,540,625. Keywords : Inventory, Material Requirement Planning (MRP), and steel slabs. Bahan baku proses produksi merupakan faktor sangat penting, sehingga diperlukan pertimbangan dengan baik dalam pengadaannya. Objek dalam melakukan penelitian ini adalah pabrik di industri Slab Baja yaitu PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk. Permasalahan yang ada diperusahaan ini sering terjadinya pembeliaan bahan baku yang selalu melebihi dari pemakaian yang dibutuhkan selama satu bulan. Maka hal pertama yang dilakukan adalah untuk mengetahui peramalan apakah yang terbaik, metode lot sizing apakah yang paling optimal dan melakukan perhitungan peramalan permintaan Slab baja. Kemudian menentukan berapa banyak kebutuhan bahan baku yang harus disiapkan berdasarkan jumlah permintaan produk Slab baja. Perhitungan dihitung dengan menggunakan software POM-QM dan Ms. Excel, dimana metode peramalan menggunakan Moving Average (MA), Weight Moving Average (WMA), dan Exponential Smoothing (ES). Kemudian dihitung total biaya persediaan bahan baku dengan Lot Sizing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Lot For Lot (LFL), Fixed Period Requirement (FPR), Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), dan Period Order Quantity (POQ). Berdasarkan perhitungan yang telah dilakukan (ES) dengan nilai error (MAD = 14289, MSE = 291359, & MAPE = 0.1790), tidak melewati batas kendali dan teknik lot sizing POQ yang paling optimal dan ekonomis dengan biaya persediaan terkecil kedua setelah LFL yaitu sebesar Rp7.769.540.625.
